Flea collar for my cat by Hartz?

I have recently gotten my cat a flea collar by Hartz. I noticed one flea on him earlier, and is wondering if there is another brand I should get instead. He is an outdoor and inside cat. I used frontline on him once and there had still been a flea. Is it that most fleas die and there are just a few left on him or what? All answers appreciated.
